Terms and privacy

How you may use CrediTutr, and what information it keeps about you.

Terms of use

CrediTutr is an educational course about credit cards in Canada. By using it, you agree to these terms.

Educational use only

Nothing in CrediTutr is financial advice, legal advice, or a recommendation of any product, bank, or card. The Unreal Bank statement, its figures, and the people in it are fictional and exist only for teaching.

Accuracy

We work to keep the content accurate and current, and we mark points that are still being checked. Rates, fees, and rules change, and your own cardholder agreement governs your card. Check the terms that apply to you before you act on anything you learn here.

No warranty

CrediTutr is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for losses that result from decisions made using the course.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the service, access other people's accounts, or copy the course for commercial use.

Changes

We may update these terms. The "Last reviewed" date on the About page shows when the content was last checked.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

Privacy

This section describes what CrediTutr stores and why.

Without an account

Your progress, review queue, and settings are saved only in your web browser (local storage). Nothing is sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes this progress.

With an account

If you create an account or sign in, we use Firebase Authentication, a service from Google Cloud, to handle your sign-in. It stores the email address you used and, for Google sign-in, the name and email that Google shares with us. Your password is handled by Firebase and is not visible to us.

If you sign in, your progress (answers, review queue, habit checks, and active days) is saved in this website's database, under your account. Only you can read it.

Your account is kept until it is deleted. To delete your account, use the Contact page and choose "Delete my account". We then remove the account and its saved progress from our Firebase console. Progress kept in a browser without signing in is not affected.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your information.
  • We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics in the course.
  • We do not ask for your card number, bank login, or any financial account details.

Your choices

You can use the course as a guest without creating an account. You can sign out at any time from the Progress page. You can ask us to delete your account by contacting us, as described below.
